Look, I think it's so obvious that arranging bootlegging via the SVLUG
list is illegal and stupid as to make further discussion pointless.
(Whether it's no good or immoral is irrelevant.)

Nope.  As has already been explained here, repeatedly, the patent is on
compression, not decompression.  Besides, this and all the other,
similarly interminable "Everyone does it" arguments are irrelevant.
