I assume you use 3 button mouse. Left button is for select, middle for
paste under normal conditions.
If you have 2 button mouse (don't know why one wants to torture himself?)
then you select text with the left button and paste with left and right
buttons at the same time.
That works under gpm in text only console or in X.
Sun is using the same method for cut/paste in CDE environment but lacks
gpm and virtual consoles. I don't understand why those who design the OS
Solaris don't see a good use for it. They will probably realize that 5
seconds before they'll become obsolete. Other commercial Unix is not much
better in that respect.
