Cyrix CPUs have a weak FPU. The K6's is slightly slower than the intel's but
not by much. The K6-3's will be faster.

I'm almost certain Quake will run faster on a K6-2 300Mhz than a 300Mhz
Celeron (there is a good chance it will without the 3D now enhancements, and
it certainly will with them).
That's not even mentionning the older celeron CPUs which are dog slow
because of the complete absence of second level cache.

Correct. For windows the best card for your money today is the RivaTNT, and
for linux it will be the Banshee based cards (2D + Voodoo2), but the 3D
doesn't yet work on linu (this should be fixed soon)
