AFAIK, glibc 2.1 as a whole has some changes that will either force a few
recompiles (big deal, we have the source for just about everthing), or you
will have to keep old libs hanging arround (lame, but requires no effort
if you don't care about forcing yourself to install via the package
manager, which ever one it might be).
