[svlug] testing mailing lists

What is the best way to test a mailing list, if you suspect it to be
having difficulties? For example, let's say some list named
foo at some.domain doesn't seem to be sending you back your posts. But
majordomo at some.domain is perfectly willing and able to communicate with
you. Is there any way to do some tests to figure out the problem is yours,
or someone elses?
