Should you have sufficient space on your hard drive, you might try
one of those video cards with TV on it. My brother recently got
one of those - an ATI. I was over at his house last week and we
"recorded" Deep Space Nine. It took over a gigabyte, though :).

Admittedly we did this in Windows, however.
