that works if the ethernet segments are close to each other...
but switch hubs(?) won't work across "50 miles of t1 line"...
second issue is if the predecessors randomly assigned ip# ...servers spread out
between worstations and interspersed with laptops and dialup ip# and
web server and other bastion side servers....
than subnetting is NOT a good solution.... and with bridging, there
is NOT need for subnetting.... all segments get all the broadcasts
from all machines...since reassigning ip# for 255 machines is not
trivial without passwds...and than doing the magic with subnets...
probably 4 subnets...
