the box will have a V.35 connector on it. As for a card supported by Linux
I think there are 3 or 4 of them. I once did a check and discovered one of
the best (certainly the most Linux-friendly company) was Sangoma of Canada
(www.sangoma.com), I loved their card so much that I started importing it
to Israel, but when I left to come here I gave the contact to Erez Strauss
(erez at newplaces.com), so talk to him. the card comes with the right cable,
it's own set of drivers from Sangoma, or you could use the built in kernel
support and userspace tools written by Mike McLagan (who also maintains
linux.org and the LSA). read the help in the kernel's make config, or in
/usr/src/linux/Documentation
