The next SVLUG Installfest and Workshop will be held on November 21 at
Cisco Systems building D. We are planning monthly special topics as a
new feature. This month Raphel Skodlar will speak about configuring
sound under Linux at approx. 1pm (info and directions are available at
http://www.svlug.org/wrkshop.shtml ). The meeting is drop-in and last
from 11am to 4pm.

This is not to be confused with the BALUG/CABAL Installfest held the
next day in Oakland at the Robert Austin computer show (info available
at http://hugin.imat.com/bale/ ).

If you would like to present information on some technical aspect of
linux, or Open Source Software, I would like to hear from you. If you
have suggested topics post them to the list, and I'll see if I can find
a relevant speaker.

Note: the point of the presentations is to facilitate technical
discussion of linux related topics. I loosely define technical to
include administration, programming, underlying protocol design and
specification, or advanced user stuff. Examples of advanced user stuff
might be "Cool Things You Can Do with Emacs", or "Cool Things You Can Do
with Gimp", etc..

Of course, we also help people with their Linux installations, and
answer general questions. If you will be attending AND you are willing
to volunteer to help people please also let me know. I'm particularly
interested in having a volunteer commitment for the morning, 11am,
because that is when we are usually shorthanded.

Hope to see you there.
Chuck
