well, okay, it is not really a posting of all of the guidelines, just
the ones I want to reiterate.

don't forget to read http://www.svlug.org/mdstuff/lists.shtml to check 
up on the guidelines.  They are subject to change at any time, and
will probably change right after you subscribe.

The part which I need to quote here is the following:

Keep your e-mail signature short - 5 lines or fewer. This includes the
       -- separator line, allowing for up to four lines of content. 
"

this has changed recently.  (within the last five minutes, actually.) 
it used to read


"
Keep your e-mail signature short - 5 lines or fewer.
"

but I felt that this was not clear enough on the need for a --
separator line.  The list itself puts a .sig on each message already,
so we really need to follow this rule closely.
