I have had friends taks classes at both UCSC Extention in Sunnyvale and at
De Anza college. Their opinion was that for most things, the De Anza
classes were better. In particular the Perl course at De Anza was much
better than the classes on Perl at UCSC/E according to this source who is
a co-worker. There was more homework, and the teachers paid closer
attention to detail in the student's work. They had more time to answer
questions, etc. The general impression I got was that De Anza (affiliated
with Foothil) classes were much better at the introductory level than
UCSC/E.

I have signed up for classes at De Anza a couple of times but have never
been able to get in, they fill quickly.
