I have a few friends that are interested in getting linux on their system
s. They dont really want to lose all of their data. They also dont want to
use partition magic and split the drive and then find out that linux isnt
for them. I was thinking they could install linux using the UMSDOS
filesystem. That would make a linux directory on thier windows partition
and then they could run linux from msdos right? Will everything work like
normal like X and E CVS, Netscape, etc.?? Does Debian 2.0 support
installing like this? debian would be my perfered distro to get them into
linux but if it doesnt have this feature I guess any linux would be better
than no linux. Also will this work on a FAT32 drive? If this wont work
will partition magic split FAT32 drives? Once they are split can you mend
them back together?
Thanks
Scott
