This is sort of amusing. I shudder to think about the amount of time I spent
with broken tools under Win32. Whether it was continuous NT reboots while
trying to install things like Visual J++ (it required IE4--and then bombed
hard in the install after making me reboot three times), or buggy software
like Visual Cafe that continuously crashed, or the lack of a good "editor"
like XEmacs (closest was TextPad32), or even a use-able shell! Or how about
the sluggish performance from a PII-233 running NT 4.0 because of poor
swapping? I run the client AND the server on my P233-MMX running Linux almost
as fast...
I'm in heaven now that I'm working at home--Oracle 8 pre-release, XEmacs,
bash, and my blackdown JDK, and I never have to reboot to Windows.
