Actually, that's not as off-topic as you might think.  SVLUG was originally
founded as a PC-Unix group.  (That's how SVLUG is two years older than
Linux itself. :-)  Though the local interest definitely pushed the emphasis
to Linux, the group has not rejected its PC-Unix roots.

Actually, any Open Source OS or application should be considered worthy of
our support.  I had lunch Tuesday with one of FreeBSD's core folks and we
discussed a bit of how their group can borrow some of the advocacy techniques
that Linux has found so successful, like holding installfests.  (We were in
the cafeteria where SVLUG holds its installfests.)

I figure the relationship between Linux and FreeBSD is sort of like between
the Air Force and the Navy.  Sure they have some peacetime rivalries but
when push comes to shove, they're definitely on the same side.
