The problem of the extra distance MIGHT not be a problem but it depends on
how far that telco closet is to the NIU. The line build-out configuration
on the CSU/DSU might compensate. Otherwise it is two pairs, one transmit,
one recieve. Careful, the telco might be supplying battery on those wires
(-48vdc relative to ground). Just make sure not to reverse tip and ring,
remember how the pairs are punched down and run a cross-connect to the
block carrying the 25-pr to the desired location.

I would not suggest touching wire owned by PacBell so there is an easy way
to cheat. Rather than moving the wire from the jack to a block, extend the
existing wire by using a prefab RJ-45 cable, cut one end off, punch that
down, insert the RJ-45 into the existing jack and there you go. Note that
T1 uses different wires (the innermost 2 pairs) than ethernet.

Just make careful note of how the jack is punched down and make sure that
the jack at the far end gets the same configuration. If you have problems,
you might have got the transmit and receive pairs crossed.
