No.  But there is an sbay.linux newsgroup that covers the South Bay Area.

SVLUG does not have a gateway between its mail lists and any newsgroups.
I've started at home on a one-way gateway from the svlug-announce list to
sbay.linux.  (It's been on the back-burner for a while.)

But I'll never make it go the other way (from sbay.linux to any of
SVLUG's mail lists) because of the UseNet spam problem.  It would defeat
the spam protection we get from the mail list's two-step registration.

Well, you're probably in the minority.  Most people can't put up with the
level of spam on UseNet newsgroups any more.  If you saw all the stuff that
anti-spammers cancel, you'd puke.  UseNet today is about 45%+ spam,
40%+ cancels, and less than 15% other traffic.
