[svlug] Quake in linux

I downloaded squake.gz and gunziped it but when i run it it says
permission denied.  I changed it to mode 755 and now i get a
segmentation fault.  all it says is segmentation fault.  thats all.  i
try it w/ the -nosound tag but it still gives me the seg fault.  I am
doing all thise as root.  Do you know what im doing wrong?
