Dear Scott:
Elvis is a good editor. And vi is on just about every unix box
you will be on. Emacs is a full featured environment, but perhaps
has too many features.

Elvis has neat, keen extensions like syntax highlighting. It's also
able to read html files in web format.

Elvis is the king. For a close runnerup, I like running spfux (IBM
Mainframe editor ported to unix) via ibCS2 modules (it is an SCO
binary).

Try both emacs and elvis. I like one of the features of elvis
when it sends you messages from graceland about recovering files.

"Why are boats disappearing in the Bermuda Triangle?, Elvis needs
more Boats!" - some silly song called "Elvis is everywhere"

Thank you very much.
Chris "peanut butter and banana sandwich and blue suede shoes" Mason.
