Ok. Now after the fact I still say Microsoft paid of the promotion,
using monetary inducements of one form or another. The people lined up
at CompUSA were there for the sales. Why were the promos so attractive?
I don't think the retailer cut the price of monitors to below his own
cost without some financial incentives.
