Why waste time bickering, when we can do more cooperating? And why
insist what we did was so great, when it can teach us how to do so much
better? Talk about opportunities, ideas, and techniques, not about
personalities.

Do we want to spread the Linux Revolution? Then we need to reach out
to those who might use linux. To do that, we need to write things that
appeal to people who are likely to become Linux users. That means
reaching out with information to kids who like to play with computers.
(It's called Marketing. You know, the guys who insure the stuff you make
reaches people who could use it. And some of those marketers, not
salesmen, but marketers, are just as intelligent and creative as we are.
Not all... but I know several.)

I will shortly write a page titled "Linux, the ultimate Warez". It
will mention all those keywords legitimately in the text, not just the
meta tags; and will be interesting to many who are looking for warez,
cracks, etc. We need to spread our net to catch more potential Linux fans
like ourselves -- kids, guys, and especially gals, who are creative
explorers like we are. To do that, we need to write about what THEY are
interested in NOW; not just what they might become interested in after
they become Linux fans. They are not looking for Linux, they are looking
for the experiences that Linux can give them.

> And also, I find it slightly offensive that you presume that we do not
> know how to hack html and in fact do not know how to get the site indexed,

Not all of us know, and not all who know, bother. Most of my clients
know about Meta tags, and don't bother using them right. Then they keep
asking me to help them get more hits to their web sites. Kind of like the
guy who refuses to advertise his goods, and when he goes broke for lack of
sales, advertises his business for sale. (Hey, not all my pages have Meta
tags either!)

Meta tags, if done right, bring traffic. But on the web, good
CONTENT brings more traffic. IF you want traffic, you write about what
people are looking for, and how that relates to what you have. I do that
on occasion for my clients. That's why I run the weekly report that list
was taken from. It and the custom reports detailing what other words
people use when they mention things my clients are promoting, help some of
my clients decide how to write things that are attractive and interesting
to their potential customers.

> I personally have spent many days of work on the site, and more recently
> the web-team has done so as well. Good work. Terrific work.

We appreciate your work. We know that you know these things. But
isn't this group a place where we share what we know, with those who could
use it? I know that I have learned a LOT from the folks here! That is
the main reason I am a member. I am not offended when, on this list or
other professional lists, people start explaining PERL or HTML, with which
I am rather familiar. And on occasion, I learn something from them, too.

Read that last phrase again -- "why WE like Linux, and tell it in our
own words."

Where can we find free linux warez downloads on the web?
(Hey, those include some darned good games, too!)

Linux is the ultimate internet software crack, or cheat, because it was
written by guys like you who like playing games with their computers
online.

MS asks "Where do you want to go?"
Linux asks "What do you want to do?"
It is doers, not goers, who built this world!
