[svlug] Good source for used equipment?

Well, most of it is FOF, though I have had a conversation
with a QA engineer from Adaptec.  He flatly said that the
Maxtor - which tends to be the cheaper units, the ones sold
by Fry's as their "lure them in loss leaders" - failed earlier and
harder.  He also indicated to me that a couple of other
brands that I don't remember all that well - failed quite
early in the game.  As I remember they were all ones that I
had, Maxtor, Quantum.  And to top it since then I've had a
Maxtor and a Quantum fail.  The Maxtor was quickly and with
outout any remorse, the Quantum was more graceful but I
wasn't smart enough to take the hint and now it went 
before I got the bulk of my SW off it.

I ought mention that these are the only 3.5 form factor
HD's that I've had fail.  I have had a number of the
older 5" Micropolis drives fail- But the 3" units
have always seemed more robust.
