why is this worst case?  I think that this would be the better way to
go.  This is just a proof of concept, right?  You are trying to prove
that linux can serve up web pages, right?  Are their users going to be
using linux boxes to browse the pages which your machines are serving
up?  

Why not just jack that laptop into the lan, and have them click away
on their win boxes?
