R> NT on 486. Should know better. P-90 just barely makes it.
like I said....for your entertainment....just to test my own rules of what
machines to play with or not... not even gonna try installing linux on that winie.

read and re-read and re-read the above line...
- if you do not see your video chipset listed in the linux hardware
compatibility list....you ain't gonna get netscape to work on your linux boxes...
- all other points would be moot...especially after you re-install linux
from a clean "ORIGINAL" linux CDROM...

go and get the "interrupt conflict manager/detector program"...Fry's even carries it...

you can get off the shelf pc "diagnostics" programs ( free ones and for $$$$ )
( please go do your own digging....I donno where they are )

run a disk diagnostics on it...though your problems are NOT related to disks.

XFree86-3.2 is fairly nice and stable and compatible wiht many many different
systems and enviroments

if it is NOT working perfectly, for months at a time, you have a mis-configured
option some place...
I have linux boxes running flawlessly for 90+ days under light load...
and with loads up to 12 for these corporate machines...
- no crashes....unless "I fuck up"... or stupid cheap "scsi disks"
that cannot reset and just hangs...
