I don't know why you guys have so many problems with Netscape. I
installed a bit short ( I mentined before that 2% of file was missing)
gzipped file. Java and other stuff works on

version 2.0.30 #13 Tue Jul 22 10:59:46 PDT 1997 i586
with these libraries:

ls /lib
cpp libext2fs.so libpthread.so.0
ld-linux.so.1 libext2fs.so.2 libpthread.so.0.5
ld-linux.so.1.7.14 libext2fs.so.2.0 libpwdb.a
ld.so libforms.so.0.86 libpwdb.so
ld.so.1.7.14 libm.so.5 libpwdb.so.0
libc.so.5 libm.so.5.0.6 libpwdb.so.0.53
libc.so.5.3.12 libncp.so libss.so
libcom_err.so libncp.so.1 libss.so.2
libcom_err.so.2 libncp.so.1.0 libss.so.2.0
libcom_err.so.2.0 libpam.so libtermcap.so.2
libdl.so libpam.so.0 libtermcap.so.2.0.5
libdl.so.1 libpam.so.0.54 libtermcap.so.2.0.8
libdl.so.1.7.14 libpam_misc.a modules
libe2p.so libpam_misc.so security
libe2p.so.2 libpam_misc.so.0
libe2p.so.2.1 libpam_misc.so.0.54

That's from standard RedHat 4.1. I compiled a newer kernel.

Netscape works with java here in the office. I used it to order stocks
at E*trade. Java graphs and tables all worked. Don't know if I'll make
more money due to using Linux.

Netscape did crash a few times on other ocassions but it wasn't realy
critical. There was no core dump. It's more stable than earlier Solaris
version. Just grab staticaly linked version. I am not sure if dynamicaly
linked is available. It takes more memory but that is not a problem in
my case (64MB). Since I don't have Motif I always download staticaly
linked software unless I can compile it without Motif.

I haven't installed StarOffice yet due to libc.5.5 it requires. I need
to get that lib first. It's disk hungry though, about 65MB I think.
Database (Adabas) also expects "hundreds" of MB.

On the other note: Cobol programer dived something by zero? No wonder we
have Y2K problem :-) (Chris don't kill me, yet :-) By the way, what is
"GREATER ZEROES"?
Zero is zero, the smaller it is, more likely it's zero :-)

where do you want your data to go today?
