good idea.  that has been implemented.  It is Dan's list.

I think that no one will complain too much about this list being used
for such traffic.

you running a routing protocol?  be sure that you weight the updates
you get across the fast link, so that they will be knocked out of your
routing table after the fast link is up.

If you neglect to do this, the router will use both links the same,
and the slow link will continue to ship traffic, and never time out,
and never drop.
