Voting is now open for the sbay.org election for 2005 officers and
directors. As we move to put the new organizational structure in place
for the non-profit corporation, anyone currently on the mail lists of
sbay.org, SVLUG, BAFUG and Stratofox may vote.

   Candidate info: http://corp.sbay.org/voting/candidates.html

Voting will close at noon Pacific Time on Monday, November 22.
Results will be announced after voting closes.

Thanks to the volunteers who stepped up to be candidates when we asked
in September for help filling this ballot. That's a routine we'll have
every September now. And thanks to Will Galloway who has volunteered
to act as official observer for this election.

Next year as the elected officers and Board of Directors take office,
sbay.org will begin taking memberships, with $10 annual dues to begin
to build a treasury for things like insurance, the Linux Picnic
(BSD users welcome), a holiday party, or any needs of SVLUG, BAFUG and
Stratofox. However, whether you choose to be a member of the parent
organization, participation in the Special Interest Groups (SIGs)
including SVLUG, BAFUG and Stratofox will be unchanged and free.
Sbay.org social events will also remain free. Membership in sbay.org
will be required for voting in future sbay.org elections and being a
leader of any of the SIGs.
