Need a good speaker? May I suggest myself. I installed the first
Web server in America right here in Silicon Valley. I've put a talk
together entitled "Bringing the Web to America" that I think Linux
users would find interesting. What the talk is really about is how
the internet developped to what we know today as this was needed
before the Web could be invented. It is a story about the roles the
academic and Open Source communities played in giving us the internet
and the Web we have today. I'm sure everybody will learn something
from my talk.

For a Linux audience, one can add that I invented use of CVS over the
Internet and was founder of GNUStep. I've been a Linux user and
advocate for over five years.

If invited to speak, your December meeting might be a good choice
as it will come close to the 12th anniversity of the first Web server
in America.
