Hi,
I'd like to recommend a topic for the SVLUG on InfiniBand and Linux.
There has been a great deal of InfiniBand activity in the Linux space,
particularly in the area of Linux based high performance computing clusters:

There are a number of interesting issues for the Linux community
including the requirements needed to support the IETF IPoverIB draft RFC.
Also interesting is how InfiniBand's kernel bypass and hardware transport
mechanisms can be exploited by Linux based applications. There are a number
of open source development programs supporting 10Gb/s InfiniBand development
for Linux including SourceForge projects for InfiniBand and DAFS/DAPL
(Direct Access File System and Programming Library), as well as several open
source MPI (Message Passing Interface) implementations for Linux. These
projects provide several APIs and implementations of transports which
support kernel bypass operations allowing user space processes to
communicate directly with remote processes using process virtual addresses
and remote direct memory access (RDMA). Additional APIs such as Sockets
Direct Protocol provide similar kernel bypass capabilities while preserving
software compatibility with applications originally written to run above TCP
transports.
I would be happy to present the work that Intel, Network Appliance,
Oracle, Mellanox, and others are doing in the InfiniBand space. Please let
me know if there is interest in this topic at the SVLUG.
