>Thanks, everyone, for letting me do the Zaurus presentation last night.
>I hope I did well. ;^) (Everyone SAID I did, but who knows if they were
>just being polite? heheheh)
Sounds like you're being too harsh on yourself. Of course you did fine.
Then again, when talking about Linux, LUGs are friendly audiences.
They *want* you to succeed. That makes it a lot easier. So relax. :-)
>I'd be happy to make my slides available. They're about ~700Kbytes in
>OpenOffice ".sxi" format. (That format is already ZIPped, internally.)

>If SVLUG's got somewhere to put presentations, I can e-mail them to
>someone (or put them on FTP for you to grab).
>
>If not, I can just put them on my own website, or up at LUGOD.org,
>and then just post a link to the mailing list for folks to follow, if they're
>interested.
Either way works. What do you prefer?
>Let me know. And thanks again! I'm glad I didn't faint or anything! :)
Except that you mentioned something about being nervous at the opening,
I never noticed anything. You got into the topic and sounded like you were
talking about something you're very interested in, which is undoubtedly
true. :-)
I usually find when I'm talking to a group, I can do fine as long as I
made my slides ahead of time and have enough familiarity with them to talk
a little extra with each slide. One thing I'm not good at is "thinking on
my feet" in front of a group (whether it's 20 or 200) so I need those
slides to provide organization. But with the preparation, I feel no need
to be nervous in front of a friendly audience. It just tends to work.
Here's one presentation that Owen DeLong and I did for a Ham Radio club
with 1 day's notice when their regularly-scheduled speaker got called out
of town on a business trip.

And it seemed to work for all the same reasons for you yesterday.
