Lucid Lynx 10.04 will release its first alpha version on Thursday.

Here's a page about Ubuntu release names, and how to suggest names for future releases: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DevelopmentCodeNames

And here's Mark Shuttleworth's youtube announcement of Lucid Lynx "from somewhere in the world": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l02bhwofEqw

A friend has suggested using GoDaddy for web hosting (http://www.godaddy.com). Does anyone have any experience with them? They provide both Linux and Microsoft web servers (actually secureserver.net) with expected differences between the services provided on the two flavors.

See you all Thursday evening!

It's completely normal that you lose data on "Windows" platforms.
That's why you have a Linux/BSD/UNIX server for backups.
