[Smaug] Earlier survey request

I made a request a day or so ago for feedback on an issue with
the new LTS version of UBUNTU, 8.04.1 LTS.

Here is the bug report I filed about that:

The issue is mainly one of usability: Gnome or Ubuntu has shifted mouse
pointer selection from the mouse dialog to one which is reached by a
non-obvious path through the Gnome menus.

My question is whether other people think I've made a valid complaint,
after they try to change the mouse pointer.

My argument is that changes in the mouse pointer should be associated
with the mouse, not with some overall theme. In fact, when you change
the pointer when selecting a theme, the selection doesn't stick
with the theme; rather it the selection is global.

So, what do  YOU think? - Hopefully you are running this new
Ubuntu or some other distro which is using Gnome 2.22.3 or a version
which implements the changes I describe.
