Hmm... it seems that the primary determinant in my case was a mild
preference for KDE (since I indicated I didn't care what distribution
method was used... apt, rpm or portage/source-based).
I didn't know that a kubuntu existed... I'll have to check it out... I'm
in the middle of installing ubuntu (breezy badger) onto a PII-233 with a
10 gig HD that I'm going to offer up for $50 on craigslist with an hour
of tutoring. Better than having it go to the dump, I say, and become
toxic waste. Should be more than adequate for basic
Internet/wordprocessing.
