Dudes, you're all a bunch of techies, and you're overlooking the
obvious: stick the site in a blog, with a built in base template for
look and feel, have a couple of "admins" who approve registrations,
delete spammers and revoke vandalism, and let anyone and everyone update
the site, the calendar, etc.! When all you have to do is click "edit" to
change the content of a page, the effort involved goes down
dramatically, and the likelihood of it happening goes up.

Instead of flaming each other on the list, just post a note on the
mailing list saying, "hey, we need to get this info updated on the
site", and any of the twenty people with ten minutes to spare can click
on over and do the update.
