[Smaug] lite server

I vote slackware.  Slackware, I believe, is trivially proven smaller than
Deb by allowing for finer grained package selection.

Of course, if you can arrange for space via samba on another system, a 
source based distribution will trivially defeat either.

I'd recommend gentoo there.
