My experience:  Ideally, a group like this should try to minimise
changes of time/date/location, to avoid losing people who're still
relying on old information.  (Sometimes you have a compelling 
reason to change, of course.  Beer's good!  ;->  )

Smaug settled on 1st Mondays because they involved the fewest conflicts
for people at the time, and allowed the maximum number of interested
parties to attend.  It's possible that this has changed:  You might
want to study which other tech. groups in the area meet on which
nights (don't forget that some over the hill may be relevant), and
poll people on what works for them.
