I have been assembling a FAQ on using PicoBSD
in embedded and similar scenarios. You can make a
cheap PicoBSD serial/parallel control system out
of an old motherboard and a floppy, often nothing
else required; you can make a cheap firewall/router
with an old motherboard and 2 lan cards (in some
cases in this config you can netboot and don't even
need the floppy). You can use flash ROM's instead
of floppy, compact flash, etc.. I'm always soliciting
input... URL:

Any comments and input welcome. Please contact
me if you have any interest in PicoBSD in the
Santa Cruz area, thanks...
