[SMAUG] Progress Report

Well, with considerable help from Jacob Hunter, the group now once again
has administrative control of this mailing list, and this evening will
regain edit/admin control of the group's Web site.  I've made a few
changes to the Mailman settings:  The most significant is that the
subscriber list is now available to any subscriber, not just to the
listowner.  You can browse it here:

The main thing we need next is a replacement meeting place for March and
months following.  The SCO Conference Center is no longer available.
Adding a couple of items to my list of desirable qualities in a meeting
place:

-- can be regularly available
-- large tables, or at least tables that can be combined for 10 or more
-- not too much crowding
-- quiet enough for conversation
-- hours that fit SMAUG's time slot
-- admission for those under age 21 (remember the USA's dumb liquor laws)
-- food / coffee would be nice, but not essential

Lisa DeQuattro and Max Baker are scouting out some possibilities -- but 
don't be shy if you can think of others.  (I can't:  I'm ordinarily a 
South Bay denizen.)

As soon as we have a meeting location, updating the Web site is the next
priority.  Really soon would be good!

Believe me, given a regular meeting time and venue, getting meeting
topics and speakers won't be a problem.
