Greetings! My team at Cisco (Identity Assurance Services — essentially the Cisco PKI team) is looking to hire an experienced systems administrator to support our 24x7x365 crypto infrastructure. Right now, we’re primarily a Linux shop (CentOS and Red Hat) with a dwindling Microsoft presence (hence the lines about Microsoft support there—it’s going away!). We could really use some experienced Linux guys, with experience in Oracle, storage systems, and Java development as big pluses. We are looking for this candidate to be located in San Jose, although we have another opening in RTP, North Carolina: we need additional staff in the Bay Area to support our infrastructure there.

As a member of the Identity Assurance Services team, a successful candidate will provide system administration support to rapidly growing Public Key Infrastructures. The candidate will provide day-to-day support of existing systems and assist in the design and deployment of upgrades and new systems, as well as managing and providing automation for recurring tasks. The candidate will be an initial contact point for technical response issues providing 24/7 support to global user base on a rotating duty basis. 

Technical expertise and individual initiative are required. The candidate will primarily be required to support our Windows/Linux infrastructures, custom and third party applications, and Hardware Security Modules. 

Skills Required: 
	- Outstanding customer interaction skills required. 
	- Excellent verbal and written communications skills 
	- 2+ years of hands-on experience supporting Microsoft server technologies in a networked environment. 
	- In-depth knowledge of current and pending Microsoft Windows Operating systems is required. 
	- In-depth knowledge of current and pending Red Hat Linux OS versions required. 
	- In-depth knowledge of scripting is required. 
	- Knowledge of current industry best practices 
	- Ability to work across cultures and time zones. 
	- Knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure and X.509 concepts 
	- Solid understanding of OS command/utilities in a heterogeneous environment 
	- Experience with Object oriented Programming (Java, C++, etc…) 
	- Proficiency in scripting languages (Tk, Perl, a shell). 
	- Provide advanced troubleshooting of OS and hardware components 
	- Trend analysis on performance and growth
