System Administrator - Engineering

Box has a sophisticated and fast growing VM & Hardware infrastructure
that keeps its engineers super productive. We are looking for a
versatile System administrator to own, manage and scale that
infrastructure, as we keep pace with torrid growth.
Ideal candidate in this role will bring deep Systems' experience, a
strong empathy and teamwork attitude towards developers, assertiveness
when necessary and most of all, a burning desire for self-improvement. 
 
Responsibilities: 
Serve as a primary point responsible the overall health, performance,
and capacity of our Development and Testing systems
Assist in the roll-out and deployment of new product features and
installations to facilitate our rapid iteration and constant growth
Develop tools to improve our ability to rapidly deploy and effectively
monitor custom applications in a large-scale UNIX environment
Work closely with Technical Operations teams to ensure that  best
practices are shared

What we look for:
A deep passion for automation
A distinct operational mindset, as distinct from an
'feature-development' mindset
Deep UNIX/Linux systems knowledge and/or systems administration
background
Strong trouble-shooting skills that span systems, network, and code
Demonstrated programming skills in one or more of: Python, Perl, PHP,
Ruby, Java, C
Prior experience in an internet-facing technical operations role
Ability to pick up new software, frameworks and APIs quickly
