[SVLUG-Jobs] Security Engineer - San Francisco, CA

This is a full time, on-site, salaried Security Engineer position located in
San Francisco, CA paying to $150,000 a year depending on experience +
benefits. Local candidates preferred, but client will pay relocation
expenses as well as flight/hotel expenses for interviews. No telecommuting
allowed. US Citizens or Green Card holders only please. While they would
prefer a senior-level person, they will consider junior to mid-level

We are a fast growing tech company looking for someone with solid experience
who can help us create a pro-active, engineering-driven security team. We're
looking for a security engineering lead to help us build security features
and systems across all of our websites.  

You're a hacker at heart who is fascinated by security. You've played with
more programming languages than you can name, and love experimenting with
new technology.  You have experience dealing with high-traffic websites and
the scalability and performance issues they bring with them. You have a
visceral repulsion to manual processes and a strong desire to automate
everything. You're talented enough to outsmart all the script kiddies
attacking our site, have the chops to parachute into varied codebases to add
features like login throttling, monitoring, and fraud checks; and have the
engineering skills to develop frameworks that can be used across sites to
prevent and monitor attacks. 

Specific qualities include:  

* Ability to read and write in many different programming languages 
* Strong Linux, bash, SQL, and scripting language experience 
* Knowledge of the intricacies of the HTTP protocol 
* Knowledge of network infrastructure, including routers, switches,
firewalls, and associated network protocols and concepts
