This role is vital to the successful implementation and management of our cloud initiatives in support of development and testing engineering functions across diverse product platforms. You will leverage your systems and database implementation, monitoring and administration experience to envision, implement, secure, automate, and monitor various cloud deployments. You will play a key role in creating dynamic, secure, high performance, and highly available cloud environments that will provide scale and flexibility to various engineering organizations. Your enterprise Linux/Windows systems and database administration experience, attention to detail, ability to solve problems and willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges in a fast-paced environment are core traits for success in this role.
 
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
•	Implement and support databases in cloud deployments by working with
engineering organizations in support of their development and test functions
•	Deploy in multiple public and private clouds, e.g. Amazon (AWS),
Rackspace, Cloudstack
•	Manage cloud deployments with cloud administration and management framework, e.g. RightScale
•	Work with IT Network and Security organizations to standardize
infrastructure builds to facilitate a secure yet flexible operating environment
•	Implement and support application monitoring solutions for cloud
deployments Leverage industry best practices in defining and tuning appropriate on-demand cloud deployment architecture
•	Programmatically automate routine cloud deployment, administration, and monitoring tasks 
•	Be dynamic and capable of continuous learning and quick integration of
new learning in daily work to accelerate and improve team capabilities
•	Provide operational support of cloud/development environments in support of both the engineering and IT organizations
Qualifications:
•	5+ years of administrating enterprise systems (Linux variants) 
•	Specific experience in cloud platform deployment preferred
•	Strong evidence of scripting skills to automate routine tasks
•	Knowledge of Chef and/or Puppet orchestration frameworks desired
•	Prior experience developing and integrating management dashboards a big plus
•	Prior experience in hands-on troubleshooting of complex systems problems that includes capacity planning and performance tuning, reliability or high availability initiatives
•	Database implementation and maintenance experience required (DB2 and/or SQL Server)
•	Cross-functional DBA skills highly preferred
•	Good technical knowledge of block and network storage and data protection
•	Prior exposure to an agile development methodology preferred
•	A team player – ability to influence and lead cross-functional
teams
•	Self-starter with track record of managing multiple complex tasks
•	Excellent communicator – verbal and written skills required
•	Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent work experience
•	Master/Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
