Contract opportunity for a Senior-level Linux systems administrator for a
short-term project (1-3 months)  in San Francisco to assist with developing
an imaging solution for desktop Linux. The tasks would include:

    * Improve automated/unattended installation scripts to join Linux OS to
      the domain, configure Antivirus and management extensions and apply
      configuration changes

    * Gather requirements from project owners and evaluate/implement an
      imaging solution for Ubuntu and Red Hat Linux

    * Investigate feasibility of using CentOS OS and repositories in place
      of Red Hat, and test Red Hat Linux with Centos repositories

    * Assist with QAS/QMX implementation on CORP AD network

    * Advise and implement a management infrastructure Proof-Of-Concept


Qualifications:

    * 5+ years experience with multiple Linux distributions, especially
      Ubuntu, Red Hat, CentOS and Fedora in a desktop environment

    * Experiencing supporting c/c++ and Java development on Linux systems

    * Familiar with Windows and Macintosh client OSes and VMWare products
      (Workstation 8, Fusion 4)

    * Experience with CloneZilla and other bare-metal imaging systems

    * Experience building .rpm and .deb packages

    * Experience with Quest authentication products, LDAP, and binding
      Linux to Windows Active Directory

    * Experience building Kickstart, Satellite or equivalent unattended
      Linux build and administrative platforms

    * Understanding of security best practices for desktop operating
      systems

    * Advanced scripting abilities with Shell and Perl

    * Effective written and verbal communication skills
