quality of live content on the Internet, Veetle has created a breakthrough

unprecedented stream quality, and each month that user base continues to

challenges are highly technical - how to create a scalable streaming cluster
that can deliver HD streams to millions of viewers without dropping a single

interfaces that redefine how live content is consumed, in your living room

Our current need is for a System Administrator. Veetle is well-funded and
will pay very competitively for an exceptional candidate. The applicant
should have the following:

 

Primary responsibilities:

*	Set up, maintain, and monitor thousands of geographically diverse
web and video servers
*	Work with contractors on the construction and deployment of server
hardware
*	Work with external vendors to procure additional backend resources
for our growing internet presence

*	Troubleshoot and maintain in-house development machines

*	Set up and maintain the various software services needed for
business operations
*	Lead the software design and implementation of tools for monitoring
software and hardware health



Requirements:

*	3+ years of work experience in information technology or software
design and development
*	Linux administration skills, especially Ubuntu/Debian 

*	Experience with large clusters of computers

*	Experience with high-performance web serving applications
*	Familiarity with LAMP, Apache, PHP, Nginx, MySQL, Nagios, Cacti,
SNMP, NFS
*	Well versed in server assembly and repair, including minor soldering
skills
*	Network management skills including switch configuration and
management
*	Strong programming skills including Javascript/PHP/HTML towards the
development of internal tools
*	Must be proficient at debugging live production systems in the Linux
environment
