My client who is in the Digital Advertising & Marketing space is in search of a solid Linux Sys Admin to work on a contract-to-hire basis in their Redwood City, CA location.
Part of company was acquired so the IT Department is moving resources & assets to another Data Center. They need a contractor during this transition time to learn the new system & be there to convert to full-time status about 4 - 6 mo's down the line.

Key Skills:


1)       RedHat Linux & some Xen (some servers will be created & deployed to Xen, but Xen exp is not required)

2)       Must be able to script in shell, perl would be great in addition

3)       Networking Skills (some knowledge of: firewall, install/set-up/config Cisco routers & switches, load balancers as well as monitoring)

4)      Some Windows experience (install/set-up/config, etc.)

Environment:

2 SQL (2003) database servers
2 Windows servers running .Net
2 Active Directory controllers on VMware esx1 3.5
Apache & MySQL (LAMP)
10 - 12 virtualized Linux Servers
Xymon monitoring system (any monitoring tool is fine)
Juniper Firewall (any firewall exp is fine)
Cisco routers & switches
