Job Description:

You must have a strong background in software development including
specification, implementation and testing.
>From a technical point of view you should have some familiarity with at
least some of the following areas:
- Linux platform development
- Driver development
- Linux kernel development
- Hardware bring up
 
Specific experience in the following areas may be helpful:
- Bootloader development
- USB and flash driver development
- x86, PPC and Cavium driver development
- C programming
- Linux kernel porting, patching, etc
 

Job Description: Access Routing Technology Group is looking for a talented
and motivated Senior Software Development Engineer / Architect to work with
us to expand server virtualization into the branch. Be part of the Cisco
organization that is driving the evolution and expansion into new technology
areas and market segments.
You will be part of a fast paced team responsible for delivering innovative
low-cost server solutions in support of the key Cisco initiative - Network
as a Platform. Open communication, empowerment, innovation and quality,
teamwork and customer success are the foundations of this team.
The position requires extensive collaboration with multiple technology
groups and external vendors during planning and execution, providing ample
opportunities to build upon your interaction skills. 

Responsibilities:
- Engage with product marketing to clearly understand the product
requirements and roadmap.
- Write complete functional and design specifications for those features
independently.
- Rapidly new features to validate prototyping designs.
- Develop large portions of software independently and rapidly with a focus
on quality .
- Integrate and troubleshoot component level as well as system level issues.

- Ability to engage in high level desing and architecture.
- Participate in definition, design, and review of software architecture,
design, and implementation.

Requirements:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or related field with a
minimum of 8 years of industry experience.
- Experience with Virtualization technology - specifically VMWare ESXi
- Experience with server system architectures including hardware,
virtualization, OS and management
- Experience with VMMs development including: low-level hardware programming
using VMWare DDK and kernel debugging.
- In-depth knowledge of the VMWare VMCI interface and para-virtual driver
implementation.
- In-depth knowledge of VMWare VI SDK and VIX API, and familiar with the
VMWare ESX hypervisor internals.
- Working knowledge of development processes, languages, and tools including
C, Java, Perl/Python is necessary.
- Familiarity with subsystem interfaces, such as ACPI/BIOS, IPMI, Intel AMT
is a plus.
- Hands on experience with SOAP, XML, and REST is a plus.
- Successful record of taking projects from concept to completion.
- Must be a quick learner and should keep up-to-date with latest on
technology, competitors and standards.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills to work with others as a team.
