Linux Engineer

Location: San Jose, CA

Duration: 2+ months (with chances of extension)

 

NEED CONSULTANTS LOCAL TO BAY AREA. (outstation consultants will have to
attend Face to Face)

 

We have an Urgent need of a Linux Engineer for a 2 months project (There
are chances of extension, if the budget gets approved)  at San Jose, CA


We are looking for the following experience.

 

The skills we are looking at are:

Redhat Linux packaging experience

OS 1st boot customization

Experience using Linux Anaconda installer

Shell scripting, python scripting experience

 

We need to customize a Redhat Linux to run on a new Intel platform,
packaging in the right libraries. Typically the work will be as follows:

 

*	Develop a Linux compressed, self-extracting binary installer
utilizing RPMs and bash programming.  Develop a flexible automated build
infrastructure to create the binary installer comprised of a Perl build
script and XML configuration files that allows for quick and efficient
modifications made to the packaged application. 

*	Develop a Linux compressed self-extracting binary installer for
providing service patches and engineering specials incorporating a
rollback feature. 

*	Create a Operating System installer through RPM, Kickstart,
Anaconda Installer and firstboot customizations.  Provide a makefile on
the build side to automate building of this Operating System ISO image. 

*	Research, develop, troubleshoot and provide support for the
complete Operating System and Application Linux appliance installation
and maintenance including server hardening and supplying client
utilities.
