Online Community Manager:
The Online Community Manager is the main liaison to all CollabNet
customer site members with responsibility for ensuring a positive user
experience as well as improving CollabNet's value proposition for its
customers.
We look for a person that enjoys seeing communities grow, and can drive
strong adoption of our toolset. Getting involved with our customer's new
product development is an exciting part of this role, and you will be
working on cutting edge projects, suggesting new methods to teams, and
lending your thought leadership to these projects.
You must have a strong background in leading or participating in open
source communities with a knowledge of the processes and procedures
used to engage and keep a communities interest. Programming background
with the ability to mentor individuals that would like to start an open
source project as well as coach an enterprise in the benefits of the
open source community are important parts of the role.
Responsibilities:
* Facilitate launch of CollabNet platform
* Oversee entire project development lifecycle,
* including; requirements gathering and definition
* Project scoping, SOW preparation, project implementation, launch
* Act as liaison between the community and the CollabNet Sales,
Support and Product Development organizations in such areas as issue
resolution, SOW preparation and sales support.
* Become an active member of the community, helping to resolve
issues, move projects forward and keep the community active.
Requirements:
* Good working knowledge of the use of HTML, CSS and interface
scripting languages
* BA/BS or equivalent working years
* Strong communication skills
* Good working knowledge of Developer Communities
Sustaining Engineer
Software systems analyst, Support Operations
Brisbane, CA
Position Overview:
The Sustaining Engineer will be part of a team of talented Support
Engineers who provide the highest level of user technical assistance
possible to CollabNet internal and external customers. The position
encompasses troubleshooting CollabNet applications based on customer
reported problems as escalated from the rest of the Support team. This
tier three position is responsible for troubleshooting our application
using log analysis, code review, and test systems for reproduction of
application errors and/or performance problems as well as identifying
code that needs refinement or repair and, optimally, generating patches
to correct any identified problems.
Our product is a collaborative development platform, both hosted and
installed onsite. The application is mainly installed on Linux,
occasionally Solaris, and serves out Subversion, CVS, Apache (using many
of its associated projects Turbine, Lucene, Tomcat, Velocity) utilizing
MySQL and BDB as back-end databases. Java is a key component and python
scripts help install, maintain, and troubleshoot the application.
Duties:
" Debug our applications via log analysis, code review, and
stress testing
o Analyze jvm heap dumps
o Review service distribution
o Determine if bots/scripts/spiders/etc are causing
the app problems
" Liaise with core engineering on issues that require more
in-depth code analysis
" Document activities such as specific test, problem, or
solution descriptions and contribute to CollabNet's knowledge base
" Assist in installations and upgrades as necessary when
escalation is required
Qualifications:
" Minimum of 5 years experience in support engineering or
system administration
" Proficient knowledge of Linux (RedHat) and experience with
python is required
" Experience using SQL and databases such as MySQL or BDB
" Knowledge of webapp fundamentals (i.e. Apache, SSL, X509
certs, and other web related technologies) required
" Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all
levels of an organization
