Main Areas of Responsibility 

*         Senior-level systems administration functions for RHEL4/Fedora
Linux

*         Maintaining core systems on the Linux platform including Mail,
DNS, Proxy, Radius and Load Balancers

*         Establishing and managing development environments for IT
software developers, including creation of environments and installation
of software 

*         Establishing and monitoring backup and recovery systems 

*         Rapidly scale systems to meet demand

*         Monitor system stability and performance

*         Configure system and network parameters

*         4+years experience in a 24/7 datacenter environment




Professional Experience Required

*         5+ years experience of building, managing, and responding to
monitoring systems measuring critical system performance

*         3+ years experience in configuring and maintaining a Postfix
environment

*         3+ years of experience with Perl or shell scripting

*         3+ years experience building and managing load-balanced web
server clusters with Apache, PHP, MySQL and Virtual Hosting

*         3+ years experience with backup and recovery at an
enterprise-level, including tar, afio, ssh, and scp

*         3+ years of disk management experience with Linux LVM 

*         2+ years of virtualization experience with VMWare products

*         Advanced System Security knowledge, installing and maintaining
tripwire software, configuring and maintaining iptables etc.

	*	Solid experience with DNS, SMTP, routing protocols (BGP,
OSPF, GRE),    transfer (SSH, SCP, Rsync) 

*         Exhibits leadership qualities and strong procedural and
architectural documentation skills, experience with related tools (such
as visio)

*         Flexible, adaptable, and able to manage multiple tasks in a
dynamic, fast-paced environment

*         Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to
peers and management

Professional Certifications and Education Required

*         Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related
discipline 

*         8+ years of system administration experience on a Unix
platform

*         Experience with Tomcat and JAVA platforms is a plus

Additional Skills

*        LDAP/Active directory experience is a plus

*        Knowledge and understanding of large scale network storage
concepts,
architecture, operations best practices, ILM/HSM concepts and best
practices, network file access utilizing NFS and CIFS protocols,
enterprise data, backup software, preferably HP products

*        Be capable of executing efficiently, meeting deadlines, and
focusing on specific goals
