Sr. Linux Systems Administrator Job Description:

Our Client, located in Sunnyvale California, is looking for a Sr. Linux
Systems Administrator for a permanent resource.

Responsibilities for this position include the deployment, support and
upgrade of Linux servers running SAP and other Infrastructure servers.
This is a systems engineer position reporting to the Network & Systems
Administration Manager.

Our ideal candidate will have experience as a member of an SAP
implementation team and is at home working across company boundaries to
build and maintain a strong infrastructure. Good communication abilities
and a strong service ethic should complement a hunger for cutting edge
technology. We prize your ability to understand the intended functions
of our applications, current and future, and satisfy them with a
potentially novel architectural design.

Job Description includes:
Join our IT technical team to support hardware, software architecture
for application and database servers.

Install, configure and maintain hardware/software on Linux servers.

Administer and manage user setup and backups on Linux systems using
Veritas Netbackup.

In depth technical knowledge and hands on experience with Red Hat Linux.

In depth technical knowledge and hands on experience with EMC/CISCO SAN 

Design and implement upgrades, develop infrastructure, manage and
automate recurring tasks, and help ensure that technology is always an
aid, never an obstacle. 

Be an escalation point for our Helpdesk team and share in our 24/7
on-call responsibilities. 

Work in a demanding, fast-paced environment, employing exceptional
technical expertise and individual initiative while maintaining a
user-centered attitude. 

Monitor system performance and resources. Design closed-loop quality
metrics demonstrating your systems performance.

Experience with administration of SVC, CVS version control servers

Experience with administration of Bugzilla

Pre-requisites include:
Experience with Linux/EMC/Cisco SAN environment is required.

Experience with Red Hat clustering would be a plus.

Experience as a member of an SAP implementation team

Experience as primary (or responsible) support person for a mission
critical operations support environment

Ability to diagnose, isolate and resolve customer technical support
requests and document actions taken

Must be able to perform well in a multitasking, dynamic and potentially
stressful environment.

Experience with project management, change management and process
control; excellent documentation skills.

Interoperability experience with Windows Active Directory is a major
plus.

Ability to provide accurate, concise issue statuses and escalate issues
to management as needed.
