JOB DESCRPTION (SCOPE) 

Works on projects or new initiatives to propose and design, configure, implement and test strategic IT system solutions to address complex technical and business requirements. Also serves as the highest level of escalation for complex problems. 

Senior technical contributor with in-depth experience in medium to complex computing environments, with advanced knowledge in their Technical Track. Understands how their specialty works with all other components of IT systems. 

Works on designs for complex, multi-platform systems. 

Troubleshoots the entire system, primarily relying on proven techniques for IT systems analysis and evaluation. 

Provides Levels 2 or Level 3 technical support (depending on organization) and after hours on-call technical support. 

Serves as technical and project management leadership for large, complex projects using cross-functional teams. 

Typically the interface to other engineering groups. 

Supervises the technical work of other IT Engineers 

TYPICAL DELIVERABLES

 

Project plans for own and / or team deliverables 

Implementation plans 

Effectively deployed, maintainable systems based on their designs. 

Technical documentation including designs/configurations/maintenance, test plans, procedures and process documentation 

Documented solutions to escalated problems. 

New policies and procedures or revisions to existing policies and procedures specific to their function and role 

Implemented technical and process improvements based on their own and others recommendations 

Designs for complex solutions for one or more systems 

REQUIRED 

BS in Communications Engineering, Math, Computer Science, or a related field. 

Expert level knowledge in Linux/apache and ATG configuration 

Significant ecommerce experience in design and support capacities 

Significant experience in a large data center environment in all aspects of design, engineering, analysis, testing and ongoing support for their technical area. 


Advanced knowledge of current trends and techniques for their Technical Track, including: 

▪ Relevant platforms and the IT systems they are part of 

▪ Installation and configuration techniques 

▪ Standard protocols 

▪ Design implications 

▪ Troubleshooting techniques and diagnostic tools 

Performance optimization techniques
